Ford Mustang — Bolt Pattern

Early Fox-body Mustangs used a small 4×108/63.4mm fitment; the 1994 SN95 redesign moved to 5×114.3 on a larger 70.5mm hub with imperial 1/2"-20 UNF studs, a pattern kept unchanged through the current S650.

Common questions

What bolt pattern does the Ford Mustang have?

Early Fox-body Mustangs used a small 4×108/63.4mm fitment; the 1994 SN95 redesign moved to 5×114.3 on a larger 70.5mm hub with imperial 1/2"-20 UNF studs, a pattern kept unchanged through the current S650. Check the table above for your exact generation, and confirm against a wheel or the owner's handbook before buying.

Will other wheels fit my Mustang?

Only wheels with exactly the same bolt pattern — bolt pattern has no working tolerance. The centre bore must also be equal to or larger than the hub (a larger bore just needs spigot rings). A different pattern needs bolt-on adapters, which also push the wheel outward and change the track.

What is the centre bore on a Mustang?

70.5 mm on the current car — earlier generations may differ, see the table. The bore is the hole in the middle of the wheel; it has to clear the hub spigot or sit on a spigot ring.

Bolt pattern is only part of fitment. The offset (ET) decides where the wheel sits in the arch — work that out with the wheel offset calculator. For tyre sizing on a new wheel width, use the tire size calculator.
