BMW 3 Series — Bolt Pattern
Every 3 Series from the E36 to the F30 is 5×120 with a 72.6 mm hub — but the bolt thread changed mid-way, from M12×1.5 on the E-chassis cars to M14×1.25 once the F30 arrived in 2012. The G20 (2019) switched pattern entirely, to 5×112 with a 66.6 mm hub — a G20 wheel will not fit an F30 and vice versa.

Common questions
What bolt pattern does the BMW 3 Series have?
Every 3 Series from the E36 to the F30 is 5×120 with a 72.6 mm hub — but the bolt thread changed mid-way, from M12×1.5 on the E-chassis cars to M14×1.25 once the F30 arrived in 2012. The G20 (2019) switched pattern entirely, to 5×112 with a 66.6 mm hub — a G20 wheel will not fit an F30 and vice versa. Check the table above for your exact generation, and confirm against a wheel or the owner's handbook before buying.
Will other wheels fit my 3 Series?
Only wheels with exactly the same bolt pattern — bolt pattern has no working tolerance. The centre bore must also be equal to or larger than the hub (a larger bore just needs spigot rings). A different pattern needs bolt-on adapters, which also push the wheel outward and change the track.
What is the centre bore on a 3 Series?
66.6 mm on the current car — earlier generations may differ, see the table. The bore is the hole in the middle of the wheel; it has to clear the hub spigot or sit on a spigot ring.
Bolt pattern is only part of fitment. The offset (ET) decides where the wheel sits in the arch — work that out with the wheel offset calculator. For tyre sizing on a new wheel width, use the tire size calculator.
