BMW X5 M — Bolt Pattern

The performance X5 M tracks the regular X5's platform switch: 5×120 through the E70 and F85, then 5×112 with a smaller 66.6 mm hub once the F95 arrived in 2019. All three run staggered wheels — a narrower front, wider rear.

Unusual: the front hub bore (74.1 mm) is not the same as the rear (72.56 mm) — a quirk specific to this generation's M brakes.

Matches the regular X5's G05 switch from 5×120 to 5×112 — pre-2019 X5 M wheels don't fit.

Trims and markets vary — verify against your own wheel or the owner's handbook before buying.

Common questions

What bolt pattern does the BMW X5 M have?

The performance X5 M tracks the regular X5's platform switch: 5×120 through the E70 and F85, then 5×112 with a smaller 66.6 mm hub once the F95 arrived in 2019. All three run staggered wheels — a narrower front, wider rear. Check the table above for your exact generation, and confirm against a wheel or the owner's handbook before buying.

Will other wheels fit my X5 M?

Only wheels with exactly the same bolt pattern — bolt pattern has no working tolerance. The centre bore must also be equal to or larger than the hub (a larger bore just needs spigot rings). A different pattern needs bolt-on adapters, which also push the wheel outward and change the track.

What is the centre bore on a X5 M?

66.6 mm on the current car — earlier generations may differ, see the table. The bore is the hole in the middle of the wheel; it has to clear the hub spigot or sit on a spigot ring.

Bolt pattern is only part of fitment. The offset (ET) decides where the wheel sits in the arch — work that out with the wheel offset calculator. For tyre sizing on a new wheel width, use the tire size calculator.
