Common questions

What bolt pattern does the Audi A3 have?

The original 8L (1996–2003) is 5×100 with a 57.1 mm hub. Every A3 since the 8P (2003) — 8P, 8V, 8Y — is 5×112 on the same 57.1 mm hub. Check the table above for your exact generation, and confirm against a wheel or the owner's handbook before buying.

Will other wheels fit my A3?

Only wheels with exactly the same bolt pattern — bolt pattern has no working tolerance. The centre bore must also be equal to or larger than the hub (a larger bore just needs spigot rings). A different pattern needs bolt-on adapters, which also push the wheel outward and change the track.

What is the centre bore on a A3?

57.1 mm on the current car — earlier generations may differ, see the table. The bore is the hole in the middle of the wheel; it has to clear the hub spigot or sit on a spigot ring.

Bolt pattern is only part of fitment. The offset (ET) decides where the wheel sits in the arch — work that out with the wheel offset calculator. For tyre sizing on a new wheel width, use the tire size calculator.
